Recruitment and Training

At Grace Landscapes we believe in staff development and have never knowingly underestimated the value of our workforce. They have helped us achieve our position as one of the leading landscape companies in the UK. The Company has always had a great interest in horticultural training and recognises the value it adds to the service we can offer our clients.

Today Grace Landscapes is one of the industry leaders in training provision. In the early 1990′s re-organisation of the training provision in FE Colleges led to a closure of a number of horticultural courses – ‘everybody talked about training but nobody did it.’ Unable to outsource the companies training requirements in 1999 Grace Landscapes decided to set up a self-contained training facility at Mirfield.

The scheme is co-ordinated by fully trained staff and we are a registered centre with City and Guilds/NPTC to provide training across a number of different qualifications. In 2003 and again in 2006 the centre was inspected under the OFSTED system and was awarded a Grade 2, being mentioned as a “very good training provider” in the subsequent reports.

Grace Landscapes train Apprentices each year from within the company and from other landscape companies in the region.

The qualifications we offer are:-

QCF Level 1 Diploma (7573-01) in Practical Horticulture
QCF Level 2 Diploma (0065-23) in Work-based Horticulture (Landscaping)
QCF Level 3 Diploma (0065-33) in Work-based Horticulture (Landscaping)
